There are going to be times when you don’t want to workout. There are going to be times when you see a certain exercise and you think that there is no way you can do it. There will be times when you can think of 100 reasons why you shouldn’t workout or why you should just give up.
Here’s the thing though. You are stronger than your excuses. When you actually try something that you think would be impossible for you to do and see that you are capable of doing it- that is a powerful thing. You would be surprised to find out what your body can do if you just believe in yourself.
When I first began my fitness journey I would watch the Insanity workouts the day before doing them to see what I was facing. You know, to preview my torture haha. I would just sit there doubting myself the entire time while I watched these people move in ways that I have never seen before. But I knew that all I could do was try it and see what happened.
I decided to flip the switch from thinking “I can’t do this, those people are in incredible shape. I am just starting out and can’t even walk up the stairs without getting winded!” to using them as my inspiration. I wanted to be able to look like them AND perform like them! When I was able to do those power jumps and all of those crazy push ups (not like the people in the video, but STILL!! lol), I felt like I could conquer the world.
It isn’t going to be easy, you have to work hard to get to where you want to be. I don’t know how long that will take but what I DO know is that I don’t ever want to go back to who I used to be and that I am getting closer every day.
